I have oily skin that is slightly sensitive and is prone to breakouts though as I get older I get fewer and fewer breakouts. It's something I know that is hereditary because I have several family members on one side of the family who have those skin traits as well.
For years I struggled with my skin and over time I discovered a skin regimen that works for my skin. My regimen keeps my skin hydrated while minimizing oil production, it helps with breakouts and the texture of my skin.

My current regimen
Morning
- Cleanse once with a gentle cleanser - Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser or a store brand from Walmart or Target
- Tone with a Thayer's toner
- Treat with The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc Serum. In the winter I may also use The Ordinary Hyaluronic Serum
- Moisturize with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Shield Hydrating Water Gel Sunscreen or Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer with SPF 50 for a moisturizer and sunscreen. In the winter I may apply one of the Neutrogena moisturizers first and a regular moisturizer afterward.
Nighttime
- Remove makeup + double cleanse with a Noxzema cream cleanser when wearing a full face of makeup. If not wearing makeup cleanse once
- Tone with a Thayer's toner
- Treat with The Ordinary Hyaluronic Serum.
- Moisturize with a really hydrating moisturizer. Recently I was using the Equate Beauty Hydration Gel Moisturizer
