Trash Talk: Beauty Products Used Up Summer 2024

It’s another edition of Trash Talk. This time I have some summer makeup and skincare empties to share.

Noxzema Original Classic Clean 

Typically I buy the store-brand version of this cleansing cream. For some reason I don’t remember, I bought this one. I think it’s probably because I had a coupon or it was on sale.

This is a product I will definitely buy again either store brand or name brand.

NYX Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray 

My go-to setting spray is the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

I’ve been using it for years and like it but I wanted to find a cheaper or budget-friendly alternative that I could use when I wear makeup for only a few hours or am working from home.

I’ve already bought another bottle of this.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer w/Sunscreen

During the day I only wear moisturizers with sunscreen to protect my face from the sun. So I’ve used several different moisturizers with sunscreen over the years and this one is my favorite.

This Neutrogena moisturizer with sunscreen is very moisturizing but doesn’t leave me looking like an oil slick. This moisturizer doesn’t leave my skin with a white cast and doesn’t break me out.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Powder Foundation

I’ve been using this powder foundation from Maybelline for years and it’s served me well. Because of that, I’ve used different shades over the years and finally settled on the shade Java.

I like that this powder doesn’t break me out, goes on smoothly, and gives me good coverage without looking like I have on a lot of makeup.

CoverGirl Micro-Fine Brow Pencil 

I’m not picky about the brow pencils I use. My preferred type of brow pencil has

• A fine tip so the brow hairs look natural
• Has a brush on one end so I brush my brows into shape
• And is self-sharpening

For this CoverGirl brow pencil, I bought the shade Rich Brown.

Thayers Witch Hazel Facial Toner Unscented

Over the last year, I’ve become a fan of Thayers facial toners. This one is unscented and alcohol-free. It doesn’t irritate my skin and I feel like it is holding moisture more and looks more radiant since I started using Thayers Toners. So it’s no surprise that I plan to continue using them.

Laura Mercier Caviar Volume Mascara

Overall I liked the mascara but wouldn't buy it again. Mascaras don't impress me much as they all seem pretty similar. So I don't like spending a lot of money on mascara. 

Some mascaras give my lashes more volume than others but the difference is subtle. This was one of those types of mascaras.

Ulta Beauty Ultra Slim Brow Pencil 

As I mentioned before I don’t discriminate regarding brow pencils. This one was on sale and had the three characteristics I look for when buying a brow pencil.

I bought this brow pencil in the shade Expresso.
