If you look at the ingredient list for most hair products they have protein ingredients. That includes conditioners, moisturizers, and even shampoos. This was something I learned the hard way when I found out I had protein overload. The reason for my protein overload was due to just about every single product I was using on my hair weekly and daily had protein in it.

Since that discovery, I have been paying a lot of attention to the ingredients in all of the products I’m using on my relaxed hair now. It took a lot of research to find hair products without protein including shampoos.
