May was a hard month, with so much going on in our world, country, and for me personally. Towards the end of May I kinda needed a break from everything and while I was ingesting some social content I wasn’t really sharing any.
There were a few bright spots for me during the month which I’m sharing in this post. Others have been seeing one of my friends in person again, volunteering with some people from my church to give out groceries to help families put food on their table, having a mother’s day video call with my family.
What were your bright spots during the month of May?
Before getting into my May highlights and favorites I wanted to send a big thank you to all of you who have been reading and watching my content over the last few months. It's been exciting to see more and more of you come on board and to interact with you.

Due to stay at home orders hair salons are closed and several of us have more time on our hands. I’ve been taking advantage of this extra time to work on improving the health of my hair. In this video, I shared 7 things we can do to keep our hair healthy until salons open again.
My relaxer stretch is going a few weeks longer than normal and to help me through it I'm only using hair products that my relaxed hair really likes and are really moisturizing.
Though I’m working at home I still have a lot of face-to-face interaction with my co-workers and clients via video calls. So I want to make sure I look presentable but not spend a lot of time doing it. In this blog post, I shared my perfected and simplified makeup look for video calls.
With all of the hair products out there why is it so hard to find products without protein? To try and make it a little easier I’ve put together a list of some of the best protein free hair products out there for relaxed hair.
I'm a fan of the social media tool Tailwind and recently they released several new features for their Instagram scheduler that made it even easier and better to use than before. I share what those new features are in this blog post.
Florida has started opening up which has included outdoor seating at restaurants at 25% capacity, re-opening non-essential retail, and opening hair and nail salons. Since salons re-opened I got a relaxer touch-up with my hairstylist. It was an interesting experience which I shared via video. Here's the link if you'd like to watch it.
I've been wondering how wearing makeup under a face mask would work. When I've gone out I've opted to wear no makeup at all or just on the top of my face. Are you wearing makeup under your mask?
This is a posting tool for Twitter and Facebook that I found via a review from another blogger I follow. I read this review a few years ago, signed up, and immediately couldn't figure out how to use it. So I ignored it until recently. Missinglettr autogenerates social posts for Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn that I can then approve and schedule so I don’t need to write them myself anymore.
I don’t talk a lot about cooking because I don’t like doing it, but since I’ve been spending more time at home I’ve done a bit, just a bit, more cooking. As part of a recent grocery order I bought some white fish fillets and then realized I didn’t know how to cook them. I found this easy recipe on Pinterest and enjoyed a delicious and easy dinner.
While many people have been watching documentaries, movies, and old dramas during their extra time at home, I’ve been watching more and more reality TV shows. One of them is called Songland. It’s a music competition for songwriters. If you haven’t heard about it or watched it yet, you are missing out. You can find out more about it here.
