That is until I realized I was running low on my favorite mascara and had some good coupons for L’Oreal mascara. So with my coupons in hand, I paid the makeup aisle at Walmart a visit to search for the perfect L’Oreal mascara.

The four key things I was looking for in mascara were
- Waterproof
- Lash extension
- Comes in black and brown
- Didn’t cost more than $8 before coupons
One mascara that stood out to me was the L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. This mascara claims to “stretch and extend your lashes like wings!” Its “revolutionary Butterfly Brush with asymmetrical lash line shape extends and lifts outer corner lashes to give you a winged-out effect, instantly volumizing lashes at the roots and stretching lashes outward. The unique Cocoon Fibers instantly wrap lashes in a soft, delicate veil to create silky, spectacular lashes that flutter.” After reading this description I was intrigued and decided it would be a good one to try.
Honestly, the “revolutionary Butterfly Brush” confused me the first probably 10 times I used it. I wasn’t sure the best way to hold or use it. While I don’t think I’m using the brush the right way I’ve figured out something that works for me.

That being said, I do like the final effect. Once I figured out how to use the brush I didn’t have issues with clumping and my lashes looked longer, thicker, and more voluminous.
When I use a more basic mascara instead I notice a definite difference in how my lashes look versus when I use the Butterfly Mascara. With the Butterfly Mascara, my lashes are longer and look thicker. So they end up framing my eyes more than without mascara or with the basic mascara, I typically use.
