Mostly this is because I don’t like to look like I’m wearing makeup. I feel like it draws too much attention. Also, I think I like to keep people guessing about whether I’m wearing makeup or not. So it’s no surprise that I also prefer my eye makeup to look natural. So If you looked in my makeup bag all of my makeup, including my eye makeup reflects that.

I didn’t always want my eye makeup to look natural. While I kept my face makeup simple, I would pair that with more dramatic and bold eyeshadows. No matter where was I going, church, grocery shopping, even to the office I would wear bold purples, greens, and blues.
Once I hit my mid-to-late-twenties I stopped wearing eyeshadow all together for a few years. When I started wearing eyeshadow again I opted for a more toned, neutral down look. This meant wearing lots of browns and taupes with an occasional hint of gold or orange thrown in to brighten things up.

To achieve this toned-down and neutral look I started using the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. It soon became my sole eyeshadow palette. One of the things that drew me to this particular palette was the 12 neutral shades. Because of the multiple shades of bronze, beige, and brown I can create a smokey eye or a subtle, very natural day look.
All of the shades in the palette work really well together. I’ve also been able to pair them with more colorful shades I’ve used in the past.
While I love the Maybelline The Nudes Palette and still use it every day I started to feel it was limiting. Especially when I felt like adding a hint of color. So I started looking for another eyeshadow palette that would give me some more color while still keeping with my natural look. This led me to the Maybelline 24K Nudes Palette.
The Maybelline 24K Nudes Palette comes with 12 shades that have a more heavy metal feel, but still, look and feel more natural. I love the rich navy and many purple shades. I can wear the shades solo, mix and match them within the palette or mix them with shades from the Maybelline The Nudes Palette.
What’s your favorite eyeshadow palette?
I haven't tried either of them but I have tried the other two, I was impressed by the quality but they were never my favourite so I gave them to a friend ;)
