What I've learned though since I started my hair journey earlier this week that it usually takes a few times of using a product for me to finally conclude whether or not my hair likes it.
With that in mind, I decided to give the As I Am Cleansing Pudding another go.

Pre-pooed
My hair is loving dry deep conditioning as a pre-poo, so as not to upset my hair I pulled out my trusty Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner. This time I wanted to add some strength to my wash day so I mixed in some sunflower oil which is a ceramide. After slathering the mix on and I let it marinate with my Hot Head heating cap on for about 30 minutes. I also took advantage of this time to vacuum and mop my condo floors.
Cleansed
I tried the As I Am Cleansing Pudding again. This time I didn't let it sit for a few minutes as the directions said. I also worked it in at my scalp like I do with shampoo and didn't apply it to my hair. The result was my hair didn't feel as stripped as it did the first time.
Conditioned
Unlike my last wash day, I remembered the green tea rinse comes next, then the conditioner. After leaving both on for a few minutes and then rinsing, my hair felt a bit more moisturized.
Leave in and sealant
Nothing new here. I continue to use a mix of Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave-In Conditioner and Thermafuse HeatSmart Serum.
Dried
I opted to fully air dry. Even though that meant going to bed with damp roots. To keep them stretched I cross wrapped my hair. Sunday morning it was dry, but moisturized.
Styled
For church on Sunday morning, I put my hair in a side bun which looked really nice.
Buns are my to go style any day!
ReplyDeleteMine too! I never used to wear my hair in a bun, but I love buns now. Thanks for reading Tomes!
DeleteI love the low bun
ReplyDeleteA low bun is my fave. For some reason I can't get a high bun to look good. Thanks for reading Nerline!
DeleteYour side low bun is adorable! Can you show us how you cross wrap your hair?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your washdayexperience chica!

Thanks KLP. I sure can show how I cross wrap my hair. Here's the tutorial http://www.arelaxedgal.com/2015/07/hair-tip-how-i-cross-wrap-my-hair.html
DeleteI have never thought about cross-wrapping my hair to keep my roots stretched while they air-dry. Of course, I'm not good at cross-wrapping anyway, but that's such a good idea! Cute bun, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie! I cross wrap since I can't for the life of me master the traditional wrap. If you'd like to try cross wrapping again, here's my tutorial on how I do it http://www.arelaxedgal.com/2015/07/hair-tip-how-i-cross-wrap-my-hair.html
