This week, the Wash Day Experience theme is Tried and True pamper your hair with your "tried and true" staple products and finish up with your fave style. I opted to use my staple products of a Coconut and Sunflower Oil hot oil treatment, Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner, green tea rinse, and L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Restoring Conditioner with ceramides.

You may have noticed that no shampoo is included in the list above. Well, I did use one - Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi. I don't consider it a staple since I won't be purchasing it again once I've used this bottle up. The shampoo tends to dry my strands so I doctored it by adding a few more ingredients.
Pre-poo
I went back to my tried and true hot oil treatment of coconut and sunflower oil. I sectioned my hair into four sections and applied the oil to my scalp and hair. Then I applied the Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi deep conditioner on top and conditioned using my Hot Head conditioning cap. Talk about moisture! My hair felt great after rinsing.Cleanse
To cleanse I mixed Eden Bodyworks Jojoba Moisturizing Shampoo with the remainder of the hot oil, some of Suave Natural Infusions Moisturizing Conditioner, and a little water. It was a pretty good mix and my hair didn't feel stripped like it normally did when I use the shampoo by itself.Condition
I did a green tea rinse over which I applied L'Oreal Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Restoring Conditioner.Leave in and sealant
After rinsing my hair, I t-shirt dried for about 30 minutes, I applied the Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave-In Conditioner that I mixed with Thermafuse HeatSmart Serum.Dry
I air-dried again and my hair didn't feel overly dry making for a great wash day.
What are your relaxed hair product staples you like to use on wash day?
I love your "co-cleansing" recipe! It's the bestest way to get rid of shampoos that suck! Your air dried hair is super cute. Throw some pin curls in it over night and you'll knock em dead!

I love how soft your hair looks! I've never tried a tea rinse before. What are the benefits?
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Yemi! Tea rinses have several benefits, some that vary based on the type of tea. The main benefits of tea rinses are reduced shedding and increased hair growth from the caffeine. Green tea in particular helps combat shedding and soothe the scalp.
DeleteYour hair looks lovely dear. The ends look healthy too.
